This page has some information about the drivers and programs used to get linux up and running in this laptop. The distribution used was Debian pre-sarge (beta 4) netinst.
The chipset uses the sis driver and I have used the XF86Config-4 automatically generated by Knoppix.

Works fine with the standard PS/2 driver, but to enable special functions (such as scrolling and short touch for button events) needs de synaptics XFree driver that can downloaded here or by apt-getting the “synaptics” package.
CD/Dvd is autmatically detected but in order to enable the recorder it’s needed to use the kernel SCSI emulation workaround.
Detected using the pcmcia_core and yenta_driver. works with kernel 2.6.10 …

Can be easily configured using the hotkeys debian package. Here's my keyboard config, generated listening events with xev.
Works with the i810_audio kernel module.
Autodetected by installer (uses sis900 module).
Works using the pctel driver, but only under kernel 2.4. I didn’t find driver for kernel 2.6.
After enabling ACPI, APM on the kernel and installing the acpid package, the Battery Monitor can be used and the Power Button is able to shutdown linux.
